StigmaWatch Report 2008

In 2008, SANE StigmaWatch marked its tenth year working to promote accurate and responsible representation of mental illness and suicide in the Australian media. During 2007-2008, StigmaWatch responded to 360 reports of stigma, with reports of stigma online increasing by 35 per cent on the previous year, accounting for almost half of reports overall.

The majority of reports were in relation to news items from the websites of major Australian newspapers.
