StigmaWatch Report 2012

1112_stig_swreport11During 2011-2012, StigmaWatch responded to 212 reports of stigma. The majority of these (56%) were related to mental illness in general, with 25 percent of reports on suicide and 19 percent on schizophrenia. This period has also seen an increase in the complexity of issues covered in the media. These included youth suicide, suicide ‘hot-spots’ and management of mental illness in the workplace.
